Membership Directory & Buyers Guide

This publication lists all members alphabetically and categorically.  It is distributed to members and is available, upon request, to others seeking information about businesses, as well as being placed in all relocation packets.  The directory is published each spring by the Dispatch and is distributed to all members of the Chamber.  In addition, it is printed and placed in The Dispatch, reaching over 12,000 subscribers.

This quarterly, electronic newsletter keeps you informed about activities and upcoming events at the Chamber.

This is the quality of life piece that is distributed to all those that are requesting visitor or relocation information.  As a Chamber member, you will have an opportunity to purchase advertising in this informative guide.

 

Advertising Opportunities

Business Promotion

Member businesses are encouraged to supply the Chamber office with brochures and business cards that will be distributed to potential residents and visitors.  Chamber staff makes referrals when someone visits the office or inquires by phone, e-mail, fax or mail.  The Chamber staff is working for you every business day.

 

Presence on the Internet

As part of your membership investment, you will be listed alphabetically and categorically on the Internet at www.lexingtonchamber.net. You will also have access to e-mail and links from the directory listing.

Chamber Checks
Chamber Checks is a program developed to support our local economy and members.  Individuals and organizations may purchase Chamber Checks in any denomination to be spent only with members.  Each Chamber Check is accompanied with a membership listing.  Chamber Checks are an excellent solution for employee incentives, corporate Christmas and birthday gifts, or gifts for friends.

Lexington Leaders Program

This program has been developed to extend to your organization with the opportunity to extend your promotional value efficiently and show your support of the community and the Chamber's program of work.  Gold, Silver, Bronze and Chamber Champion sponsorships are available with varying levels of investment.

 

Christmas Gala and Auction 
This event occurs annually in December and provides members the opportunity for holiday networking and fellowship.  The components of this evening are live and silent auctions, a reverse raffle, and an evening of fun.

 

Alive After Five

This community-based event offers music, food and drink.  Hosted outdoors by a member, Alive After Five is open to the entire community.
 
 

Chamber Classic Championship

What better way to spend a day than on the greens!  This annual event is held at a local course and provides a great day of networking for Chamber members and guests.

 

Membership Appreciation Cookout

The cookout is held twice annually to show appreciation to our chamber members and the contributions they make to the business climate.

 

Business After Hours

A Piedmont Triad Business After Hours is coordinated annually for an extra special networking and exposure experience.

 

Annual Meeting

The Chamber's Annual meeting provides an opportunity to focus on accomplishments.  Several annual awards are given to recognize outstanding achievements by community leaders and Chamber volunteers, including the Citizen of the Year Award and the Outstanding Woman in Business Awards.

 

Greater Davidson County Prayer Breakfast

One of many cooperative efforts between the four Chambers in Davidson County, the Prayer Breakfast occurs annually, typically in the fall.

 

Support Staff Appreciation Luncheon

This annual luncheon allows our members to honor the glue holding their support staff, an integral part of their organizations. 

 

Awards & Recognition

Programs

You or your organization may be the recipient of one of a number of awards.

 

Citizen of The Year

Any individual who has made a significant contribution to the quality of life in the Lexington Area is eligible for nomination. Nominees include individuals whose accomplishments and community contributions are current within the last five years.

 

Outstanding Woman in Business

This award is to be presented to an exceptional individual who has achieved excellence in her business or profession, has served the community in a meaningful way, and has assisted women in reaching their full leadership potential.

 

 B. Earl Hester Business of Distinction

 

Named for former Board Chairman and creator, the B. Earl Hester Business of Distinction is awarded bi-monthly to a deserving member. The member is selected based on innovation, contributions to the community and niche marketing. The winner's photograph and information is placed in The Dispatch and signage is presented for use that month. 

 

Growth Opportunities

Education & Leadership Development

The Chamber has a strong educational component and is committed toward helping workforce training initiatives as well as working to prepare the next generation of business leaders.

 

Governmental Involvement

Participate in the Chamber’s annual trip to Raleigh or meet our representation at the Legislative Briefing.  The Chamber provides members with a voice on issues, working closely with the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.  The Chamber hosts briefings with city, county and state government leaders. An annual “State of Our Community” function is held offering members the opportunity to speak first hand with local officials.

Participation in Chamber committees and attendance at Chamber function offers members the opportunity to meet prospective customers.

 

Educational Seminars

The Chamber joins with other organizations to encourage participation in a wide range of seminars that help business owners and their employees to become more successful and productive.

 

Leadership Skills

Sharpen leadership skills by joining in Chamber activities and becoming a participant in Leadership Davidson County, a local leadership development program sponsored by the four Chambers of Davidson County. A sister program was also developed, known as Youth Leadership Davidson County.

Grand Opening Services

The Chamber is pleased to help members with your grand openings, ribbon-cuttings, groundbreakings and anniversary celebrations.  Events are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

The City Club
